Retro Clock: Westclox 1950 Big Ben Moonbeam Alarm

Many of the best known retro clocks are wall clocks, but there are quite a few tabletop, mantle or alarm clocks that were made in the American Modern style that most people consider to be “retro”. One of the most stylish of these tabletop clocks is the Westclox Big Ben Moonbeam Alarm Clock
. This clock was introduced in the 1950s and featured a unique “Considerate Alarm” that starts with a soft flashing light that increases in intensity for four minutes when a ringing bell alarm sounds.
On the outside, this replica Big Ben Moonbeam clock is the same as the original model with a fully illuminated dial, bold Arabic numerals and a clock face that is protected by a convex lens. Added to the classic design are a few useful modern features such as a snooze feature and a battery backup that keeps time even if the power goes out.
The Big Ben Moonbeam clock is only 5” x 6.5” x 2” and looks great on any dresser, nightstand, table, shelf or desk. It is available in a variety of colors including Green, Pink, and Aqua Blue.
